Younha - Parade

Back after four years with a new album, RescuE, Younha, once again, impresses. Diverting from her normal ballad fair, RescuE is a varied and explorative album. This is seen in the title track, “Parade,” which was produced by the song-making powerhouse, GroovyRoom.

The song is about how one person coming into your life can make everything else in your world beautiful and inviting. Younha sings over a tropical-esque marimba instrumental, paired with a thrumming bass guitar. The ethereal quality of Younha’s vocals creates a dreamy feel. If you close your eyes and listen to “Parade,” it’s easy to drift away into your own dreamland.

A/N: I recommend "Foresight Dream" as well, it's gorgeous.

N. Flying - Hot Potato

This song is, well, quite silly. N.Flying, after pushing back their comeback a month, has returned with the lead track, “Hot Potato” off their third mini-album, The Hottest: N.Flying. The band jokingly sings about being so hot the world can’t handle them, just like you can’t handle a hot potato. In their comeback show, member Kim Jaehyun expressed that they were inspired by their labelmates, FTISLAND and CNBLUE, and that they too, would have an awesome future.

Overall, the song has a retro aesthetic and a funny MV. Coupled with the funky instrumentals and catchy singing, this song quickly got a seat on our playlist this week.

LONG:D - All Night (Feat. Kim Doyeon of Weki Meki)

Just before the December holidays, LONG:D dropped their pre-release track "All Night". Electro-synth DJ, Han Minse, and vocalist, Min Shark, came back with their signature trendy sound, this time with the vocal (and, not to mention, visual) help of Kim Doyeon.

It's easy to brush off as another basic synth-pop song, but I appreciate the fact that it's such a simple production. The MV features Kim Doyeon around inconsequential settings: traveling along empty streets, walking her bike on a nondescript bridge, sitting next to mechanical equipment. But the song manages to build beautiful momentum with the vocals, catchy beat, and Kim Doyeon's solo performance on a rooftop overlooking the gorgeous Seoul skyline.

Sunwoo Jung A - C A T (Feat. IU)

Cat lovers! You must watch this adorable MV!

Sunwoo Jung A is a soloist and songwriter, who also happened to compose one of my favorites songs on IU's Palette album,"Jam Jam". Now, it's IU's turn to feature on Jung A's sassy new indie-jazz number titled, "C A T". With Jung A's voice ever-so-slightly more powerful and huskier than IU's clear airiness, their vocal colors in "C A T" really make for an incredible listen.

The mischievous and playful song has some clever lyrics: "It's alright if you leave | there are so many humans that like me | Nothing to be sad over | It's your loss" ... as if a cat is singing this sassy song!

Han Heejun - Deep Inside (Feat. Sojung of Ladies' Code)

Some people might be familiar with Heejun from the eleventh season of American Idol in 2012, where he placed 9th. Following that in 2013, Heejun competed on K-Pop Star, ending up in the Top 6. Now, Han Heejun is exploring his K-pop side, releasing covers and even a single, called “Q&A” with Tiffany from SNSD.

Carrying on the tradition of pairing with strong female vocalists, Heejun has released “Deep Inside” feat. Sojung of Ladies’ Code. A resolutely pop song, “Deep Inside” is about falling so madly in love that you can’t seem to get enough of each other. With Heejun’s rich voice - seriously this man has a voice like molasses; strong yet sweet - and Sojung’s soulful soprano, “Deep Inside” catches my ear, landing a spot on my repeats playlist.
