This week is week No. 2 of our special month of Christmas themed K-pop content. (If you missed last week's "Top 10 Dance Practices - Christmas Edition," check it out here.)
For today, I used the highly scientific method of Twitter polling to determine your favorite Christmas-themed K-pop music videos.
Let's get started!
Your Top Boy Group Christmas Music Videos:
1. GOT7 - Confession Song
This has to be one of the sweetest K-pop music videos ever. It's no wonder you all voted this MV to be your number one pick. GOT7 takes their song, "Confession Song" literally as they invade a high school to help students confess their feelings. A confession and a serenade from GOT7? Can I go back to high school?
2. EXO - Miracles in December
EXO does not skimp on their winter albums. And Miracles in December (and the lead single of the same name) is proof. I don't know why, but EXO likes to break hearts with the winter albums and this music video did me in. The video starts cute with a puppy and couples' rings and ends with lots of tears. Watch at your own risk.
3. BTOB - The Winter's Tale
Third on our list is BTOB's "The Winter's Tale." This music video is everything sweet and warm about the holiday season - pastel sweaters, onesies, and plenty of cute choreo.
4. Infinite - White Confession (Lately)
Infinite's "White Confession (Lately)" is a bit of a throwback... all the way back to 2011. This song often tops annual Christmas lists because it just sounds like the perfect Christmas song. The music video matches the fun tone of the song as we watch the members run around Tokyo buying Christmas gifts.
Your Top Girl Group Christmas Music Videos:
1. Girls' Generation-TTS - Dear Santa
Coming in first is Girls' Generation-TTS, a sub-unit of K-pop supergroup, Girls' Generation. The group is made up of members Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun. Although Tiffany and Seohyun are no longer with the group, this music video is one of my favorites. The girls start by looking glamorous in red ball gowns singing a ballad. Then suddenly, the song turns into a upbeat Christmas pop tune as the scenes bounce from one from Christmas background to the next.
2. Crayon Pop - Lonely Christmas
Crayon Pop is well known for their over the top (often downright silly) concepts. This Christmas tune is no different. Throughout the music video, we see Crayon Pop dressed as Christmas trees (with the helmets they wore in "Bar Bar Bar") doing the dog's leg dance. It's one of those annoyingly addictive tunes that you'll have a hard time getting out of your head.
3. (Tie) BESTie - Zzang Christmas
BESTie is having the best Christmas in "Zzang Christmas." The song sounds just like any slightly cheesy Christmas song should, with the appropriate jingle bells, repetitive piano beat, and trumpets. The music video is pretty low budget, but it's cute and has some fun idol cameos. Three of the cute guys you see in the background make up the idol group KNK and the other is soloist Jo Kwon!
3. (Tie) T-ARA - Hide & Seek
We're rounding off our list with a slightly slower Christmas song from T-ARA. The music video shows the girls of T-ARA sitting in the middle of a street, singing of heartbreak. The music video is in black and white, minus the red each of the girls wears. Simply fitting for a sad song.
BONUS: Company Collabs
Here are some of our favorite company holiday MVs. We love when all the idols get together to make a star studded, fun video. There are always smiles, cheer, and plenty of cheesiness.
JYP - This Christmas
Starship Planet - Snow Candy
Jellyfish Entertainment - Jelly Christmas 2012
