Wanna One – Beautiful (movie version)
Wanna One is back with the title track, "Beautiful" off their repackage album 1-1=0 (NOTHING WITHOUT YOU). You know a song is going to punch you in the gut when it starts with the line, "This foolishly regret-filled song, I hope it reaches the sky. "The song is gorgeous; It's a pop ballad with perfect harmonizing. I'm in love with the song, but…
Let's talk about the music video and its prologue.
The prologue starts with a family moving away, but in the process accidentally leaves one of their sons behind. We see the young boy taken into an all-boys home, becoming close with the boys around him as he grows into a young adult (played by Kang Daniel). If you're not in tears by the end, I'd be shocked.
The music video begins right where the prologue ended. We see the boys from the home and Daniel's long-lost brother (played by Seong Woo) trying to find their places in the world and going through the typical times and trials of a young adult. The brothers each start looking for the other. The reunion for the two is sweet and heart wrenching. But, as the song says, this is about regrets. The happy reunion quickly makes way for sadder times. I won't spoil the end, but tissues are a must!

Block B – Shall We Dance
It's time to have a dance party with Block B in their latest music video, "Shall We Dance." The music video is basically a grunge-style dance fest (sponsored by Fendi?). Most of the dancing is pretty simple until U-Kwon (the group's main dancer) takes the center for a dance break.
The music video and the song are reminiscent of an older Block B style. The group seems to be revisiting their hip hop roots but the house and Latin vibes add a new sound.

EXID – 덜덜덜 (DDD)
Released earlier this month, "DDD" still tops my repeats playlist. EXID returned on November 7th in full force with this pure pop bop. The song is fun and upbeat, with an almost ballad like chorus, which keeps it from being too overbearingly synthy. EXID has used this contrasting song structure before in "Up and Down," their 2014 smash hit. In the chorus of "DDD," the electro beat drops away, allowing the vocals to shine. The 'mm mm mm mm' that backs each verse is very catchy, but stops short of being annoying due to the melodic chorus.
Each of the members performs with style in the MV. The girls are set against simple, monochromatic backgrounds, contrasted by vibrant accents in their outfits and a bold red lip.
I would love to see more girl groups like EXID, who know exactly how to be both sexy and powerful in their music. I prefer to see female idols embrace their sexuality rather than play to the cute concept and EXID is a perfect example of that.

Suran feat. Crush – Love Story
I am in love with "Love Story" by Suran, feat. Crush. Produced by GroovyRoom, the song is beautifully composed and addresses the exciting feeling of being newly in love.
Suran and Crush alternate verses backed by piano and strings. There is an effortless quality to Suran's voice. Her true talent as a singer comes through in this song. Not to be outdone, Crush, displaying his own impressive abilities, both sings and raps in "Love Story."
The song is sweet and optimistic. Suran is a wonderfully emotive singer and transports the listener through her vocals. There are some people in the world that were truly born to be singers. Suran is one of them.
