You already know we love Sunmi here at WKP. We reviewed Gashina when it first came out in our Repeat of the Week for August 25th. And we know you love her too. Our mutual love of the gorgeous singer is why I draw your attention once again to Gashina.
This time, we are looking at her final comeback performance on Inkigayo on September 10th.
Working with choreography created by Lia Kim of 1Million Dance Studio, Sunmi, but most importantly, her dancers, lit the stage on fire.
On September 4th, Sunmi released a special choreography dance practice – change up version. After begging to see the special dance version live, fans got their wish when Sunmi’s male and female dancers swapped their roles on Inkigayo. We often see K-pop singers doing this; boy groups covering girl group songs or girl groups dancing boy group dances.
What made this different is that Sunmi’s dancers took this seriously. They danced with intention and skill, and it not only worked, but elevated the entire performance. Because the dancers were so confident in their role swap, I was able to really watch the choreography and appreciate it in a new light.
Props to Sunmi and her dancers for making an already sexy song even sexier.
